How to get to Cà del Bocca Apartments in Anghiari

Cà del Bocca Apartments are in the eastern corner of Tuscany, on the border with Umbria, in the picturesque medieval village of Anghiari. The area is easy to reach by several means of transport. Our apartments are an ideal base for exploring Tuscany and Umbria, as well as the Marche and Romagna, since Anghiari lies at the crossroads of these four beautiful regions.

Getting to Cà del Bocca by car

If you want to explore Tuscany freely, arriving by car is by far the most convenient option, as it lets you visit the villages of Umbria and Tuscany at your own pace. Public transport takes much longer and is not really suitable for exploring an area so full of places to see.

Driving directions to Cà del Bocca Apartments:

From the north: take the E45 dual carriageway from Cesena towards ROME and exit at Sansepolcro Sud. Turn right towards Anghiari and follow the signs for Anghiari. At the foot of the village, after the traffic lights, stay on the main road until the first hairpin bend, then turn right towards Caprese Michelangelo. Just before the hamlet of Motina, still in the municipality of Anghiari, turn left at the sign “Cà del Bocca”.

From the west: take the A1 motorway and exit at AREZZO. Take the SS73 and follow the signs for Sansepolcro as far as Le Ville, a hamlet of Monterchi. In Le Ville stay on the main SS73 road and follow the signs for Anghiari. In Anghiari, drive down the famous straight downhill road called Corso Giacomo Matteotti and take the second turning on the left, Via Mazzini. At the hairpin bend turn right, downhill, where you can already admire the view of Anghiari’s old town. Continue along Via Nova following the signs for Caprese Michelangelo, taking the first road on the left at the hairpin bend. Follow the SP47 and, just before the hamlet of Motina, still in the municipality of Anghiari, turn left at the sign “Cà del Bocca”.

Once you have driven up the dirt road and reached the hamlet of Cà del Bocca, do not drive straight into the group of houses: keep left, continue uphill and enter through the first wooden gate on the right, which will be open.

Getting to Cà del Bocca by train and bus

If you prefer to travel by train, Arezzo railway station is the closest to Cà del Bocca when coming from the west. From Arezzo station you can take a bus or a taxi to Anghiari (about 30 minutes). We do not recommend this option, because once here it is not easy to get around without a car: we suggest hiring a car in Arezzo instead.

Trains from Florence and Rome

  • Arezzo is well connected to the Florence–Rome line by high-speed trains. From Arezzo you can continue by bus to Anghiari. In Anghiari you need to change to another bus company; there are occasional buses towards Caprese Michelangelo, the direction of our apartments. The nearest stop to Cà del Bocca is called Bv. Ca’ Del Bocca B@ANG101, and you can find it here.

Getting to Cà del Bocca by plane

If you are flying in, the nearest airports to Cà del Bocca Apartments are:

  • Florence Peretola Airport (FLR): about 1 hour 30 minutes by car. Take the A1 motorway, exit at Arezzo and follow the directions above.
  • Perugia San Francesco d’Assisi Airport (PEG): 52 minutes by car. Take the SS3bis, exit at Sansepolcro Sud and follow the signs for Anghiari, then follow the rest of the directions above.

Car hire is available at each airport and is the most convenient option: we recommend it rather than public transport.
