Gubbio is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Italy: built entirely of grey stone, it climbs the slopes of Monte Ingino. Its symbol is the majestic Palazzo dei Consoli, overlooking a square suspended above the valley. Gubbio is also the town of the Festa dei Ceri and Sansepolcro’s historic rival in the Palio della Balestra crossbow contest.
